We invite you to join us for an entire week of  of cycling fun and advocacy as we celebrate Bike to Work Week, May 11-15, 2015. Below is the schedule for the week.


Tuesday, May 12 - Ride with the Mayor

The annual Ride with the Mayor will be held in conjunction with Ride On Bikes' weekly Tuesday Night Ride. Meet at 6 p.m. at the 1000 Block of Broadway. Free bicycle rentals will be available and the ride will be police escorted. Free T-shirts will be available on a first-come, first serve basis. Following the ride, please plan to stay for a special presentation at The Loft about the Minimum Grid-Maximum Impact project.


Wednesday, May 13 - Ride of Silence

This ride is held in memory of those lost due to a bicycle accident.  Meet at 6 p.m. at the the Columbus Museum on Wynnton Road. Columbus City Manager Isaiah Hugley will lead the ride, which will be police escorted. Following the ride there will be celebration of life and the kick-off for a public safety campaign focusing on the 3-foot passing law to ensure bicycles and cars can safely pass each other. Anyone making a contribution to the public safety campaign will receive a T-shirt. The reception is sponsored by Bicycle Columbus and Maltitude. Locally brewed craft beer will be served.


Friday, May 15 - Bike to Work Day

Three energizing stations will be open from 6:30 to 9 a.m.:

  • Fall Line Trace Manchester Expressway park and ride

  • Fall Line Trace Talbotton Road rest stop

  • Riverwalk by the Oxbow Meadows rest area facilities
