Historic Columbus is the metropolitan hub of the
Lower Chattahoochee region and home to a variety of cultural and natural
attractions and cycling and pedestrian amenities. Located along the
"fall line" of the Chattahoochee River, Columbus-Muscogee County boasts a
population greater than 185,000 residents. Numerous sites of interest
are located in the community, and most are easily accessible by cyclists and
pedestrians alike. One of the city's premier attractions, the
Riverwalk,
is a 14-mile, paved shared-use path running alongside the scenic
Chattahoochee River. Other popular attractions include:
